October in Baltimore is generally a great month- the leaves has begun to change color, the heat & humidity have finally left town, the Ravens and (hopefully) the Orioles are in season. And, most importantly for cheese lovers, we get to celebrate some pretty amazing domestic cheeses! October 2014 marks the 4th annual American Cheese Month, celebrated across the country by restaurants, cheesemakers, retailers and cheese eaters.
So for the month of October we will be celebrating all things American cheese. We will take $1 of per pound for each American cheese in our case, and we will be highlighting and tasting American cheeses all month long. We hope to showcase the great ingenuity of American cheesemakers and the innovative and exciting cheeses they are making. Oozy bark-wrapped, aged sheep’s milk or washed-rind goat’s milk cheeses- the range of great American cheeses is indeed impressive and constantly expanding. So use October and American Cheese Month as an excuse to try something new!
